TESTING

These tests are used to check your nutritional status, digestive function, hormones, food sensitivities, detoxification ability and more. These are cutting edge evaluations that generally are not available through conventional laboratories. Laboratory testing is an integral and essential part of your work up. It helps us get a clear picture of your unique physiology and guides our treatment plan.

Tests we commonly use include:

  • Micronutrient Testing
This test is a comprehensive nutritional analysis of 33 vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, antioxidants and metabolites measured at the cellular level. This test provides the basis of a personalized approach in addressing a broad variety of clinical conditions.

  • Food Sensitivity Profile
This test measures levels of IgG antibodies specific to anywhere from over 154 "trigger" foods causing intolerance. IgG antibodies are associated with “non-allergic” or “delayed” food reactions that can worsen or contribute to many health conditions. It may also indicate the presence of leaky gut syndrome and other digestive issues.

  • Adrenal Stress Profile
This test is a measure of an individual’s stress response. It is also identifies adrenal imbalances that may be impacting a patient’s health. This test assesses 4 cortisol levels, and DHEA. Adrenal imbalances are often at the root of many other hormone imbalances such as sex hormones and thyroid hormone. It is also crucial in fatigue, mood disorders and autoimmune disease.

  • Comprehensive Stool Analysis
This test assesses bacteria, fungi and parasites in the gut. In addition, it tests for markers of inflammation and malabsorption. This is an essential test for those with IBS, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis), cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune issues and weight problems.

  • Organic Acid Testing
This is a nutritional test providing insights into organic acids and a view into the body's cellular metabolic processes. Identifying metabolic blocks that can be treated nutritionally allows individual tailoring of interventions that maximize patient responses and lead to improved patient outcomes.

  • Hormone Testing
These urine and saliva tests will direct the clinician in prescribing appropriate supportive supplements, bio identical hormone therapy.

  • Advanced Gluten Sensitivity Profile
Standard Celiac screening only picks up patients with full blown celiac disease and tissue damage but often miss many patients with gluten sensitivity causing other symptoms.

  • Advanced Cardiometabolic Testing
This is an advanced cholesterol test that accurately measures both the density and number of lipoprotein particles in addition to the lipoprotein subgroups, which is crucial for an accurate assessment of cardiovascular risk

  • Heavy Metal/Essential Element Testing
This test measures potentially harmful elements that can be toxic to organ systems and disrupt the balance of essential nutrients.

Will Insurance cover these tests?
Insurance companies may or may not cover the cost of testing. We will work with you to determine which tests are absolutely necessary and the cost of each. We provide a “superbill” to submit to your insurance for reimbursements. We are also able to bill a health savings account.
